Here are some tips for preparing for your shoot as well as some things to expect + FAQ's.

Please be sure to arrive on time to your session. Prepare ahead of time to ensure that we can get started on time. If you arrive late, that will cut into our shooting time as well as our time with the natural light.

If we are shooting at multiple locations, please do not plan to make stops between locations. Travel time between two locations is factored into your session time, with very little wiggle room.

If you plan to pay with cash, please have the cash with you at the beginning of the session.

Full payment is required at the time of the session. Please plan to pay your remaining balance (whatever is left over after your booking deposit) the day of the session. These payments may be made in cash, check, credit/debit card.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

Props - Props are not required and are not provided. If you do choose to include props, I recommend bringing items that are representative of who YOU are. The possibilities are totally endless and nothing is off limits!

Accessories - The more the merrier! Accessories are a fun way to switch up your looks during your portrait session without having to do a complete wardrobe change. Jackets and scarves are great ways to switch up your look. Glasses and jewelry can also be useful in dressing up/down and showcasing your unique style!

Makeup & Hair - I particularly urge my seniors to consider having makeup professionally done for their senior portraits. If you are interested in artist recommendations, please contact me.

Nails - Consider a fresh manicure with a polish color that will compliment each of your outfits. I always recommend a neutral color to ensure that it will not clash with clothing or location choices. *If you plan to wear open-toed shoes or go barefoot for part of your session, consider a fresh polish on your toe nails as well.

Portrait Session FAQ's

Q. WHAT TO WEAR

Decide on a theme for your outfit(s) - dressy/casual, vintage/edgy, playful/ professional. If you have a longer session, feel free to bring multiple different looks. You also may want to avoid branding/large visible logos. Don't forget to wear something that you feel comfortable and confident wearing! If you are uncomfortable, it will show. You may also want to consider laying out your outfits the day before.

For sessions including multiple people, try to coordinate wardrobes not necessarily match.

Q. WHAT TO BRING

Feel free to bring multiple outfits, accessories and props! You can bring items that are sentimental to you/your family that represent your style/personality. Bikes, cars, sports accessories, musical instruments, even dogs (😍) are welcome!

If you have small children, you may also want to bring toys or snacks to keep them happy throughout the shoot.

Q. WHO TO BRING

Parents, friends, pets, and significant others are welcome to tag along.

Q. WHAT NEXT
